Athena Graphics supports ‘Kom op tegen Kanker’

Recently, our colleague Siegfried Verlinde took part in the 1000-kilometre ride for ‘Kom op tegen Kanker’ together with ‘Team Tiger’. Over four days, the team cycled 250 kilometres per day, from Fontainebleau via Rouen and Lille towards the finish in Mechelen. Along the way, they faced rain and strong winds, a powerful sporting achievement, but above all a strong commitment to everyone fighting cancer on a daily basis.

The four-day cycling event started on Thursday and brought together more than 1,300 teams, including 1,227 national teams and 107 international teams. In total, thousands of cyclists participated in this special event. Together, they raised a record amount of €7,390,500 for ‘Kom op tegen Kanker’.

Within Athena, this initiative was also warmly supported. Thanks to the efforts of our colleagues, the cookie sale raised €1,813 for Team Tiger. Combined with Athena’s €1,000 sponsorship, the total amount raised came to €2,813.

Thanks to all actions and efforts, Team Tiger ultimately succeeded in raising an impressive €40,000 for ‘Kom op tegen Kanker’.
